Sharrock Niblo Park Master Plan and Restoration

Located in southwest Dallas County on the edge of an escarpment, the Sharrock farmstead includes a log cabin, log barn, root cellar and well constructed by Everard Sharrock Jr., a Peters Colonist and early settler of Dallas County in 1846. These buildings are among the oldest historic buildings remaining on their original site in the City of Dallas, and Dallas County. The City of Dallas obtained this historic site and surrounding property in 2006 and McCoy Collaborative was commissioned to complete a Master Plan and Historic Structures Report for the farmstead, and later served as the architect for the disassembly and reassembly of the cabin and stabilization of several buildings including the log barn. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. A video by Mark Birnbaum, commissioned by Phoenix 1 Restoration, illustrates the preservation process of the barn, available at this link: http://vimeo.com/372419334.
